5 Facebook Privacy Settings Every Man Should Use in 2025

These settings won't remove content that's already posted, but they can help prevent future privacy issues on Facebook.

1. Limit Who Can See Your Posts

Go to Settings → Privacy → Your Activity and set "Who can see your future posts?" to Friends. This prevents strangers from seeing what you share.

You can also use "Limit Past Posts" to change old public posts to Friends only in one click.

2. Control Your Profile Information

In Settings → Profile Settings → Edit Profile, review what information is visible to the public:

  • Set work, education, and current city to "Friends" or "Only Me"
  • Set phone number and email to "Only Me"
  • Consider hiding your birthday or relationship status

3. Enable Profile Picture Guard

Profile Picture Guard adds a blue border and shield to your profile picture, making it harder for others to download or screenshot it. It also prevents non-friends from tagging you in their profile pictures.

To enable: tap your profile picture → select "Turn on Profile Picture Guard."

4. Review App Permissions

Go to Settings → Apps and Websites and remove any apps you no longer use. Pay attention to what data each app can access—some request far more information than they need.

5. Control Tagging and Face Recognition

In Settings → Profile and Tagging:

  • Enable "Review posts you're tagged in before they appear on your profile"
  • Enable "Review tags people add to your posts before they appear"
  • Set Face Recognition to "No" to prevent automatic tagging

What These Settings Don't Do

Privacy settings protect against future issues. They don't:

  • Remove content that's already been posted about you
  • Prevent screenshots of content you've already shared
  • Stop someone who already has your photos from posting them

If your photos are already in AWDTSG groups, you'll need to take action to have them removed. Privacy settings are about prevention, not removal.
